Clouds, drizzle, and snow showers (on the mountain) made for a dismal day. Hopes had been high for my husband and me, along with the $500 price tag for travel for two. Received a small book describing the site, provided by the tour, but only at the end of the trip. Having the book up front would've helped to prepare for the site (there are things to see indoors) and to pass some of the time in transit. We also missed having a hand-out that included an agenda/time table plus a map.The day (combining bus and train travel) was extra long because we had to collect and drop off two passengers in Lucerne. No music or videos were offered to enliven the bus ride. Our guide's English was hard to understand. My husband and I often travel abroad, and I used to teach ESL to adults in NYC. Never heard the guide's version of English before. (He's from Thailand.) The guide also had a flippant, joking attitude that wasn't always funny. In fairness, the guide did suggest various spots for photo ops. He also made time to take guests' pictures using our cameras. Several photos he took of me/us were very good. Rather than spend a day like ours, take a chance and buy tix at the last minute. You'll then have a better idea of what weather to expect. Unless you have zero time flexibility, resist the online hype urging you to "book early as these trips may sell out." Our bus had at least four empty seats.Wish I'd read Yelp reviews in advance. I would then have looked for a different tour company.
The tour guide forgot his name was hilarious. At first he seemed like this quiet, grouchy tour guide, and then as the tour went on his personality started to show and I was laughing the whole time.
Overall this tour was worth my money and scenery was amazing.
I recommend taking caffeine with you if you get sleepy on a bus as I always do so you don't want to fall asleep and miss all the amazing views!
The stop off points were amazing and not too short, nor too long. The main restaurant in Jungfrau is very, very expensive and not good so make sure you eat at the cafeteria.
My tour guide name is called Kid. He was awesome and hilarious! I came on this tour as a solo female and Kid made me feel safe and also had me sit with other solo females which I made friends with. The tour is a must I highly recommend especially if you have Kid as your tour guide no one does it better then him! The drive is long yes but it's all worth it once you are on top of Europe with the views.
Raymond, the tour guide and Luis, the driver, both of them were extremely professional, courteous and caring. I was travelling with a disabled guest and they went above and beyond what was expected to ensure we got the same experience as other guests. Raymond even stepped up in places where other guides would have liked to rest with the guests. I really want to thank Hans Meier for a great experience. I think the competitor also offers the same tour and just based on the customer service of the tour guides and drivers, I would recommend Hans Meier more than the competitor, since I took some tours with both companies.
Although most of the trip is accessible, the first cogwheel train and some of the doors at the peak are not friendly towards folks on wheels. The Ice palace needs shoes with grooves as it is somewhat slippery. All the other attractions up top were great. I would definitely recommend having some good snacks going up, as you can expect the prices to be a bit on the higher side. And walking around gives a good workout.
This was one of the longest and most outstanding tours I had from Zurich. Definitely worth it and recommend it to anyone!
It was unforgettable experience and such the best tour guide....It was a nice tour with such very friendly, accommodating and take care of us. Thanks for the nice picture same as in the picture taken in your advertisement. It well planned trip as per the itinerary. we are on time. You're the best Kid tour guide :
trip was well organised, with Tour Guide Mr. Kid. Kid did an excellent job , he is well aware of the best location for clicking pictures and gave a good insight of the trip. Unfortunately Couldn't went to TOP OF EUROPE as tunnel was blocked due to Glacier. But the Hemet Meirs returned us the amount for it. Great Experience :)
Our tour guide, Raymond, was very good. He was enthusiastic and took the time to tell us about the landmarks and towns as we passed them. He helped us take pictures and gave us many good recommendations. The Top of Europe was very neat. The view above the clouds was incredible. We would highly recommend this trip!
