This was one of the best tours I have been on! Lots in one day and could definitely spend a bit more time in a couple of those places but this is the perfect thing if you are looking for a taste of a few different places. Vaugner was the best!!! Yes he walks fast but no need for you to "keep up" since he's simple walking fast to get to the round up places and lead the way. He was personable and went above and beyond. Absolutely beautiful views and lots of knowledge from your guide.
Our family of three had a wonderful experience on this tour. It was a small group of 8 which was perfect! The small village of Eze was beautiful with spectacular views and gardens, followed by a surprisingly fun experience at the Fragonard, a perfume factory. As we went on to Monaco, Cannes, and Antibes our guide was informative and passed along interesting facts. The last stop was by far our favorite Saint-Paul de Vence. We highly recommend this tour, even for teenage boys.
Our driver was a woman and she was a terrible driver and felt like she was doing us a favor when she was explaining about the various places. Not to mention she would only say a couple of words. She also didn’t stop in Monte Carlo and the stop in Monaco old town was less than expected. She is not meant for this role, seemed to hate doing it.
We did this tour on our last day of two weeks in France, and we're sorry that we ended on a bit of a low note. While our driver was very friendly and did a great job of getting us to all the places on the itinerary, he was not much more than a chauffeur. We were given almost no information about any of the stops Eze, St. Paul-de-Vence, Monaco that clearly have fascinating histories. We were dropped off at each location and left to wander without any guidance. We had already taken a number of excellent tours in other locations and had gotten used to the tour guide accompanying us through the villages and explaining their history and why they were interesting this tour provided none of that kind of information. We know this wasn't unique to our particular driver but to the way this company runs their tours, since we had taken another tour with them the day before and had the same experience with a different driver.
We also found the itinerary to be too packed. Everyone was exhausted after the long drive to Cannes, and no one had the energy to enjoy either Cannes or Antibes not just my two traveling companions-- the entire tour group. I'd recommend cutting Eze in the morning it's too much like St. Paul or Cannes and Antibes, since they're such a long drive. Our tour group may have been unusual, but none of us had any interest in Cannes or Antibes.
If you want someone to chauffeur you between all of the main tourist attractions on the French Riviera, then this might be a good tour for you. If you like a guide who will provide lots of information about the locations you visit or if you want a relaxed pace, this is not a good choice.
Two other tips: 1 This tour sometimes gets back late, so make your dinner plans accordingly. We got back to Nice at 6:30, and our driver says it's even later if traffic is terrible. 2 Think twice if you suffer from motion sickness. Neither myself nor my companion who got stuck in the front seats have ever suffered from car sickness in the past, but we both felt a little nauseous and had headaches because of so many hours on very windy roads.
The French Rivera Day trip from Nice was awesome. I went on a rainy day in Nice, and it still turned out to be an excellent adventure. The tour guides were friendly and informative. We were able to see incredible sites including multiple little Medieval villages, Monaco, Cannes, etc, all within the comfort of a van with stops. Lunch was a bit on the go, so it would be nice to have a little more time to do lunch, but I wouldn't want to miss any of the places I saw. Would definitely consider if you want to see some of the other areas around Nice (a lot of the other areas around Nice).
