We loved this tour but the biggest issue was a bus breakdown. There was a breakdown mechanically and with communications. It happened after our tour of Tulum which was fantastic. We got home safe and sound so overall a great day.

Definitely take the early access to avoid the crowds that arrive by big busloads later in the morning. Having an expert guide makes the trip so much more meaningful.

company was helpful rearranging trip after they missed picking us up on original booked tour date. knowledgeable guide, well appointed bus and the ruins themselves were spectacular. small bag of chips, juice box and biscuit don't constitute box lunch.

It was wonderful and we are going back in 2018!

There was a LOT of walking and steps on this tour, so if you are mildly handicapped, as I am, beware. It is almost 1/2 mile to the ruins proper from the parking lot. There is a tractor-driven tram that goes from the parking lot to the ruin's entrance for 10 pesos, but it was not running early morning when we arrived before the public opening time. I don't really think our guide was an official Archeologist, but he was very knowledgeable. The history of how this site came to be is very interesting. The site is pretty much decimated as no buildings are anywhere near intact. Everything is surrounded by rope barriers so you can't get that close. There is NO eating once you get inside, but you can drink water bring your own, there are no drinking fountains. There are lots of food vendors, but again, none were open during the early access. There are no bathrooms once inside the ruins, so go in the one souvenir store open at that time with bathrooms. To get to the ocean swimming area after the tour you have to go down about 50 stairs. There is no place to change into your swimsuit, so you have to wear it on the tour if you want to go into the ocean. There was very little time for swimming maybe 15 minutes before having to get back to the tour bus. And you will be left behind if you are late. Despite what the website for our tour operator touted, they offered only a juice box and a 1/2 oz bag of chips for breakfast on the bus ride up at 5:30am. Bring your own breakfast.

Pick up on time. Fair English. Some snacks. Avoid the crowds.

Tulum itself was wonderful, but the 'tour' was not great. We had to walk 20 minutes to our pick up point, then proceeded to drive around town for over an hour picking people up at their hotel lobbies. We really liked the site at Tulum, but the guide we were with did not provide very much information, and most of it was inconsistent with our independent research on the subject. There was NOT a boxed lunch. At about 9am we received a bag containing a juice box and a mini bag of crackers. That was it. In all, I would recommend visiting Tulum, but not with this tour.

We were given too little time at Tulum Ruins, so we had to run around after the guide finished with us.

This was a great trip and the guide was very knowledgeable on Tulum. Once caveat, this trip did not come with a box lunch, was asked about it and she said it was just a light snack, however, we didn't even get that.

It was a great tour, really recommend the early tour as Tulum gets very crowded by 10-11 a.m. Our Guide Raul was the best tour guide I have ever had. He was a Mayan and was full of information on various migrations to the area, the first Spanish landing, the end of Tulum as a centre and much more.
