Arrive at Lyon’s L’atelier des Chefs a little ahead of time to take a look around the kitchenware shop, mingle with your classmates and meet your instructor, an expert pastry chef. L'atelier des Chefs is a well-known cooking school with branches around France, offering classes for all levels of cooking connoisseurs. During this 2-hour class, you'll learn the skills of French pastry-making — a true art form steeped in hundred of years of tradition and heritage.
Learn the delicate tricks of the trade as you try your hand at producing the perfect pastries. Recipes vary by day and season, but may include berry pudding, chocolate soufflés, mille-feuilles (similar to Napoléons) or those tantalizingly colorful meringues filled with cream or ganache, known as macarons. If you take the choux pastry course, you'll learn how to make éclairs and profiteroles (cream puffs).
Your chef will demonstrate techniques, guide your hand and answer any questions you have. At the end of class, enjoy the fruits of your labor by savoring your creations alongside your classmates or take them away with you to enjoy at home. You'll also be given the recipes so you can recreate these mouthwatering treats whenever you like.

Please note: As this is an authentic French cooking school, the class is conducted mostly in French. The chefs will translate the necessary steps into English for non-French speakers.
