Rose Bowl Stadium

The natural-grass home field of the UCLA Bruins football team, this 90,000-seat stadium in sunny Pasadena is approximately 30 miles northeast of Westwood and the UCLA campus. Built in 1922, this National Historic Landmark has hosted the Super Bowl (five times), soccer’s FIFA World Cup, Olympic events and various rock concerts; however, it’s best known for hosting the annual Rose Bowl college tournament on New Year’s Day. Presently undergoing an almost $165 million renovation, the new Rose Bowl is scheduled for completion in late 2013. On the second Sunday of each month, the Rose Bowl is also home to the legendary Rose Bowl Flea Market, where over 2,500 collectors of vintage furniture, housewares, jewelry, clothing and memorabilia, as well as local designers of new clothing, jewelry and housewares.
